COVID-19

Dear all,

After the recent Scottish Government announcements last week, Scotland moved into a modified Level 0 today.

After reviewing our framework, we have made the decision that our locations in Scotland will move to level 1 of the ASCO framework no earlier than 9th August 2021, with confirmation expected on the 2nd August that we can proceed. This means the first phase of those returning to the office will now start on the 9th August 2021.

Over the previous weeks there has been a rise in cases across the UK and although rules are being relaxed, we must remain vigilant to keep everyone safe:

  • Facemasks remain mandatory - staff are to wear masks at all times in the building, unless seated.
  • Social distancing indoors has been reduced to 1M. However, self-awareness of this measure is expected, paying close attention to zones such as stairwells, lifts or kitchen where distancing will be restricted.
  • Wash your hands frequently with hot soapy water and make use of the sanitizing stations available across site.
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or a tissue
  • If you have any symptoms, ensure you get tested immediately.
  • Do not attend any sites if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms.
  • Although not mandatory, the NHS recommend people take two lateral flow tests per week freely available from the NHS (details to order online here), and follow government guidance if you test positive.

For those of you scheduled to return from the 9th of August, we understand that returning to an office environment and reconnecting with colleagues in person could be very exciting for some and worrying for others. Please have a discussion with your manager on the best way to transition back to the office once this is possible.

If you have any queries or concerns, please email zzRM-COVID-19@ascoworld.com

Stay Safe,
