Sustainability
Every day, thousands of tonnes of materials, equipment, and supplies move through our operations. The way we transport, store, and manage these resources doesn’t just impact our clients - it shapes communities, supports our people, and defines our environmental footprint.
Sustainability isn’t an add-on for us; it’s embedded in every decision. From improving safety and governance to cutting CO₂ emissions and reducing waste, we’re proving that operations can be responsible, resilient, and sustainable.
Our sustainability strategy. Robust, measurable, delivered.
Our strategy is centred on sustainability, innovation, and long-term value creation. We are committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, and to supporting the energy transition by generating 20% of our business growth in the Renewables and Future Energy sector by 2029. With over 50 years of experience and a strong industry legacy, ASCO remains focused on securing a long-term, sustainable future for our people, our partners, and the planet.
As a genuine partner, ASCO enables energy providers worldwide to achieve their ambitions while keeping pace with the global transition towards an energy-efficient future.

How we are making an impact
Environment
We’re reducing our own footprint while helping clients achieve their low-carbon ambitions. We apply our logistics expertise and innovative technology to drive cleaner, more efficient operations across the energy supply chain.
Through our operations:
- Transitioning our HGV fleet to 100% renewable HVO biofuel.
- Digitalising supply bases with smart technology — improving efficiency, cutting goods-handling time by up to 80%, and reducing emissions.
- Powering facilities with renewables, including a microgrid of solar panels and wind turbines at our Farsund warehouse in Norway, cutting electricity use by 50%.
Supporting our clients
- Operating a vessel pooling model that reduced three operators’ combined fleet from four to three platform supply vessels (PSVs).
- Supplying HVO fuel blends to decarbonise both road and maritime transport.
- Helping clients achieve ISO 50001 energy management certification.
- Supported over a dozen wind developers with projects over the past decade

Our Management Board, established in 2018, sets and monitors sustainability and risk targets. Senior leaders are accountable for governance objectives, including the management of climate-related risks.
Managing risk & compliance
Dedicated committees oversee Governance & Risk, Environmental Sustainability, EDI, HSSEQ, and Social priorities — ensuring compliance, protecting data, and driving accountability across our global operations.
Strengthening cyber security
We apply robust technical controls, continuous staff training, and cross-industry collaboration to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats.
Ensuring transparency
We publish sustainability reports, share performance data with clients, and measure our Net Zero progress through recognised frameworks, independently assured for accuracy and credibility.
