Produced water

We are the UK's leading specialist in the onshore management of offshore generated bulk wet waste, such as contaminated produced water projects, and have experience in managing cargos of between 500 - 25,000m3.

Produced Water

Experts in complex produced water projects

Our team has years of experience in the environmental services sector and offer complete assurance that your produced water will be managed by specialists who know how to handle, treat and dispose of water with a variety of complex compositions.

Produced water is the largest waste stream associated with the recovery of oil and gas and can be contaminated with hydrocarbons, other chemicals (e.g. methanol, flushing chemicals, biocide), heavy metals, and naturally occurring radioactive materials (NORM).

When offshore produced water solutions fail to deliver and Operators have to search for alternative onshore solutions to deal with significant volumes of contaminated produced water, our solution is the quickest and most cost-effective method. It eliminates the need for additional personnel on board the offshore asset and thus reduces HSSEQ risks and the need for more space offshore.

The growth in the Decommissioning sector also increases the number of situations where produced water solutions are required. We have already worked on a number of projects on behalf of our clients where dealing with produced water within a larger Decom scope has formed part of the complete ASCO service offering.

WHAT WE DO

Planning and execution through integrated services

We provide the full cycle of collection, logistics, treatment and disposal or reuse of the produced water on behalf of our clients.

Produced water is delivered in cargos into strategically located reception facilities in handymax chemical tankers. The tank farms are strategically located along the east coast of the UK with easy access to a comprehensive supply chain of specialist treatment sites. The sites allow the waste that has been known to contain; hydrocarbons, heavy metals such as mercury, Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) and hydrogen sulphide gas to be safely discharged and disposed of with the whole projects managed by our dedicated project management team.

REGULATION AND COMPLIANCE

Providing compliance and assurance

Our quayside storage tanks have the required environmental permits for waste and NORM, and allow for the waste to be safely stored and tested for classification before being routed to the correct waste treatment and disposal facilities based on the actual composition, and in line with UK waste regulations.

We provide further assurances in safety and compliance by using our in-house transport and industrial services to deliver the high-risk activities of road transport and post project tank cleaning. We also have the ability to provide services such as ships agency.
