COVID-19 Update - UK

COVID-19 , United Kingdom

Dear all,

Recently we are seeing more and more COVID-19 cases reported locally to our locations throughout the UK which are starting to cause concern. We wanted to take this time to remind you all how important it is that we stick to our local government restrictions for everyone's safety.

The rise in stats can be seen on the UK dashboard, where you can also search for your specific location.

As we are coming into the difficult winter period, our challenge now is to fight any complacency. A recent survey has shown that only 60% of people in the UK are currently abiding by the rules which is very concerning. We all want to avoid any stricter restrictions in our areas therefore it is imperative that we ensure we are adhering to these rules both within and outside of the workplace. Our behaviour outside of the workplace is crucial at this time to ensuring we can start to return to normality sooner rather than later.

A lot of us may have heard the fantastic news about the vaccine. Although it is uplifting news, we still don't have the full details on this and how long it will take for different age ranges to have an option for this. It could be months before everyone that required the vaccine will get access to it.

It is our collective responsibility throughout ASCO to keep everyone safe. We would like to remind you all of the basic disciplines:

  • Wash your hands frequently with hot soapy water
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or a tissue
  • Maintain social distancing at all times
  • If you have a fever, a new, continuous cough or a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste, get tested

We all have our part to play in keeping the virus at bay.

Stay Safe,
