COVID-19

Dear all,

At ASCO the health and wellbeing of our staff is paramount, and as I’m sure you are aware, the outbreak of the Wuhan novel coronavirus is becoming an increasing public health concern. There is no cause for concern within the business at the moment but as with any health concern, we want to ensure we are minimising the impact and reducing the possibility of exposure in appropriate ways within our facilities and premises.

ASCO Group has a plan in place to protect against the spread of coronavirus, and we are monitoring and following the guidance from the relevant Government Bodies, as well as the World Health Organization daily.

Basic health and hygiene practices provide some of the best defence against the spread of most contagious illnesses. In addition to regular and thorough disinfecting, you can follow the basic protective measures below and in the attached posters:

  • Wash your hands frequently with hot soapy water
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with flexed elbow or a tissue
  • Maintain at least three feet distance between yourself and other people, especially if they appear to be ill
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
  • If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early

As previously mentioned, if you are returning from, or have travelled to China within the last 14 days, for business or personal reasons, do not return to work. Notify your manager by email or phone as soon as possible. If you have symptoms of a cough and/or fever, please take steps to immediately isolate yourself and contact your local health practitioner as soon as possible.

As an additional precaution, we are asking any employees who have plans to travel to or from an area impacted by coronavirus to inform their line manager as soon as possible. Other specified areas that have now been confirmed by the UK Government include Macao, Hong Kong, Thailand, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Iran and Italy.

Thank you for working with us to keep our colleagues healthy and safe.

Kind Regards,

The HSSEQ Team
