COVID-19

Since the last 20/20 Communication that was issued regarding coronavirus (COVID-19), the information from the UK government has changed significantly.
The advice to everyone now is to self-isolate for 7 days if you develop a new persistent cough and/or fever.

This is the guidance we are following at ASCO.

It is important that if you have symptoms of coronavirus you do not leave your home for 7 days from when the symptoms first appeared. This action will prevent the spread of infection within your community and you should always follow the advice given by a medical professional. This situation remains very fluid and should you have any immediate concerns please address these via your Line Manager in the first instance. We are establishing an e-mail address for you to submit queries and will provide further details on this early next week.

If someone that you know or have been close to is confirmed as being infected, act calmly, this does not automatically mean that you will also be infected although the risk will have increased. You will need to remain alert to any symptoms developing.

ASCO's operations in Norway have been affected and the situation is now being controlled with some stringent measures that are being implemented in line with Government advise. The Norway Team are managing the response locally.

ASCO has established a Crisis Management Team and a COVID-19 Task Force to ensure that everything that needs to be done, gets done. All areas of the business are presently developing operating models for business continuity that will be implemented when they are deemed necessary. Business continuity will consider implementing alternative working arrangements e.g. home working where this is practical. If you are an office-based employee, we require you to test accessing the company systems remotely. Please let your Line Manager and / or IT know should experience any difficulties.

We are also ensuring that the necessary hygiene and cleaning standards are being maintained to reduce the potential spread of coronavirus. The health and wellbeing of everyone is of the utmost importance.

Please continue to follow the necessary good hygiene practices that will ensure that we continue to deliver safety & service excellence through this difficult time.

Kind Regards

The HSSEQ Team
