Course Content

  • Understand and apply the IMDG Code with respect to radioactive material transport by sea
  • Understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect to transporting radioactive material
  • Identify the criteria for the classification of radioactive material
  • Identify radioactive material which is forbidden for sea transport
  • Assign proper shipping names and UN numbers
  • Understand and apply the information contained in the List of Dangerous Goods
  • Mark and label packages
  • Document shipments
  • Correctly pack radioactive material in the appropriate packaging
  • Determine activity limits, criticality, transport index and transport category.
  • Accept or reject a shipment
  • Recognise when additional documentation is required
