Overview
This 1 day course aims to train shippers, cargo agents and staff and in the safe transport of radioactive material by sea.
Course Content
The course will ensure that personnel responsible for shipping radioactive material by sea can:
- Understand and apply the IMDG Code with respect to radioactive material transport by sea
- Understand and fulfil their responsibilities in respect to shipping radioactive material by sea
- Identify the criteria for the classification of radioactive material
- Identify radioactive material which is forbidden for sea transport
- Understand and apply the information contained in the List of Dangerous Goods / Dangerous Goods List
- Mark and label packages
- Document shipments
- Correctly pack radioactive material in the appropriate packaging
- Determine activity limits, criticality, transport index and transport category.
- Accept or reject a shipment
- Recognise when additional documentation is required

Course Info
PRICE: £220
CERTIFICATE: In-house training provider certificate. At the end of each course there is an examination. Certificates awarded after successful completion of the course will be valid for a 2-year period after which re-certification must take place.
CRITERIA: The Candidate must attend the entire course, have a previous initial Dangerous Goods by Sea certificate.
DURATION: 1 day
LOCATION: This course is usually delivered at an NSL Training Centre, but can be delivered at a client’s premises.
