We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Senior Logistics & Materials Coordinator to act as the central coordination point for all cargo movements, both onshore and offshore. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and timely flow of materials from receipt through to dispatch, supporting critical operations across offshore installations and the wider supply chain. Representing the customer’s interests, you will work closely with offshore teams, onshore vendors, and internal functions to deliver a high-quality, reliable logistics service.


You will oversee cargo movements, inventory control, and materials management, ensuring all activities align with company policies, procedures, and service level agreements. The role also involves driving service improvements, supporting colleagues, and deputising for the Service Delivery Coordinator when required. This position operates across two ASCO Peterhead bases (South Base and Campus), requiring coordination between locations. Responsibilities include:



  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with client representatives, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Understand client requirements and identify opportunities to enhance service delivery.
  • Liaise daily with onshore and offshore stakeholders, including attendance at meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Effectively coordinate inbound and outbound cargo movements, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain daily cargo manifests and shipping documentation.
  • Create and process SAP documentation, including consignment notes, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Track materials through internal and client systems, investigating and resolving any issues.
  • Liaise with transport teams, vendors, and clients to ensure timely and accurate cargo delivery.
  • Manage inventory processes including bagging and tagging, storage, and preparation for shipment.
  • Produce reports ensuring accuracy and alignment with company and client expectations.
  • Provide updates to team members and stakeholders on schedule changes and operational deadlines.



Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

  • Strong expertise in stock control and inventory management.
  • Stock counting and discrepancy solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the confidence to challenge at all levels.
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritise and meet tight, changing deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and ownership.
  • Commitment to promoting and supporting a proactive HSEQ culture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP or similar logistics/financial systems.
  • Knowledge of HMRC End Use and FCG requirements.


Minimum Qualifications
  • COSHH HASAWA and LOLER Awareness
  • Dangerous Goods by Road, Air and Sea

  • OGUK Mod1 General Cargo Handling
  • OGUK Mod2 Transportation of Dangerous Goods
