Dear all,
Right now, it feels like the advice on how to deal with COVID-19 is changing so rapidly that it is difficult to keep up with it. The advice is also varying from country to country but despite all of this, we would like to reassure everyone that we remain on top of it all and aim to keep you all updated.
To help keep you updated, we have developed a Coronavirus intranet page. This can be accessed via ASCO intranet where you can find the most up to date advice and guidance as it becomes available.
It is important that all communications on COVID-19 are two way, and to provide direct answers to your questions/concerns, we have set up a specific e-mail inbox that you can use to contact the COVID-19 Task Force: zzRM-COVID-19@ascoworld.com
The Crisis Management Team and the COVID-19 Task Force continue to meet daily and are constantly monitoring the global situation. The guidance remains that if you develop a new persistent cough and/or fever you must self-isolate for 7 days. Additional guidance is also now in place for anyone who shares a household with another who has a confirmed case, they are now required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days.
Your Business Unit Managers are engaged directly with the COVID-19 Task Force Team, we are conducting regular global calls to share ideas, experience and best practice. Communication is key and we require you play your part in seeking out information if it's not readily available. As a first step, please ask your Line Manager if something is not clear.
We appreciate this is a concerning time, it is situations like these when our attention can easily become distracted, this is when we are most vulnerable to having an accident. Please maintain focus on executing every task with Safety Excellence in mind. Please look out for one another.
Some countries are also implementing a ban on going to public places and advising that people avoid using public transport. This is essential advice that we all need to follow.
Today, we have taken the step of introducing our Working from Home procedures in agreement with your line manager, those of you who can effectively do their job from home should do so. A copy of the procedure is attached to this communication.
The hygiene and cleaning standards of our workplaces remains critically important to prevent the spread of coronavirus and we will ensure that our responsibility to do this is met. The health and wellbeing of everyone is of the utmost importance and will not be compromised.
We want these communications to reach everyone so can all managers and supervisors please ensure that they are shared with everyone that does not have regular access to an ASCO computer.
Please continue to follow the necessary good hygiene practices that will ensure that we continue to deliver safety & service excellence through this difficult time.
Kind regards,
The HSSEQ Team
